We have never worked this hard on a song. This is our first “real” Will Driving West song since we released our latest album Silence 2018. We tried to stay true to the same spirit but to go a little further in there.
It is a six-minute odyssey of a song, with several different chapters that follow one another. It's one of those songs where each of the members of the group brought their own ideas, brought their own color. I am very very proud of the musicians with whom I have the chance to work. If we were to change any one of them and we would have something totally different.
Always driven by a desire for independence, to be able to release what we want when we want it, we did everything at home. The challenge was immense: to take these tracks recorded with imperfect equipment in imperfect environments and try to work them so that no one notices it, that it still feels like a train is passing over your body.
I knew such a task would take countless hours of mixing, so I decided to learn to mix. I must have put in almost two hundred hours spread over the last six months and I finally got the result I wanted. There isn't a sound in this song that I haven't spent entire evenings working on until I heard exactly what was in my head. I dare to hope that this can be felt in the final result.
